Jordan Galland is a New York City–based filmmaker, songwriter, playwright, actor, and longtime independent musician who has stubbornly refused to pick just one career. As a songwriter, he has collaborated with artists including Mark Ronson, Sean Lennon, Daniel Merriweather, Domino Kirke, and Zosia Mamet. He has written and directed four feature films, including Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead and Ava's Possessions, and has premiered his plays Orchid or Kid and One-Eighty on New York stages.

After years fronting bands, making films, and collaborating with an eclectic cast of creative accomplices, Galland has returned to the intimate format of solo songwriting. His latest album, No Rockstars (coming out in October), is a collection of funny, candid, and deeply personal songs about ambition, parenthood, romance, disappointment, and the strange freedom that comes from letting go of the fantasy of becoming a star. Blending sharp storytelling with melodies that move between folk, rock, funk, and pop, the songs celebrate the quiet persistence of continuing to make art anyway.
